About Me
Hello! My name is Misty Wolters. By day, I play with numbers in the corporate world. By night, I follow my true passion: Photography. I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. Starting with a point and shoot as a kid and working up to my first 35mm manual Pentax K1000 SLR film camera in high school. I may have gone to college for business; but I could never deny my love for the art of photography. Once I had my professional degree in hand and could continue the trusted “Corporate” path, I felt free to explore my true passion after hours. For several years, I took night classes at a local creative art school. I found my happy place in the film dark room!
As we all know, life happens. I lost sight of my dream for a time. In my late 20s, I got really sick and was eventually diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. After several years of deteriorating health that culminated into five surgeries in three years (the first one life saving), I realized how short life is. During recovery, I spoke often with my husband about doing something with more purpose and personal connection. With his loving support, Blue Myst Studios was born.
My experience includes photographing families, newborns, seniors, prom, weddings, receptions, live music, sports, and promotional materials in any lighting situation. Regardless of the subject matter, my goal is to capture authentic moments and memories that you will treasure for a lifetime.
